I met Grace and Scott in the spring of 2024, when they entered and won an Instagram Giveaway for a free session. We met on Camano Island, on a moody day in April and their connection was such a joy to document.
Grace + Scott’s Garden Wedding at Christianson’s Nursery
From running club to wedding
Something I hear from my single friends often is, “how do you meet people OUTSIDE of the apps?!” Well, Grace and Scott met at a running club! Joining a club as an adult is such a great idea - there’s built-in community and if you DO find romance, you know you have something substantial in common. When I delivered their sneak peaks, Grace shared the photo of the two of them running and I don’t think that’s a coincidence - it’s a big part of their lives!
A party with their favorite people
One of the things that stuck out the most to me about this wedding was the emphasis on community. Grace and Scott’s people traveled near and far to be with them and they were insistent that this was the most important aspect. So much so that they specifically requested a group shot with ALL of their wedding guests. It was such a sweet and unique idea that I’m sure they’ll be so glad they requested years down the road.
A cozy ceremony indoors
The rain did stay away on their wedding day, but the week before had been quite rainy and that left the outdoor ceremony especially muddy. So the couple decided to pivot and have their ceremony and reception in the cozy vinery. The wood stove kept guests and the bride and groom nice and toasty. Grace and Scott exchanged vows and rings in a ceremony officiated by Scott’s father and were pronounced husband and wife amidst waving streamers and cheers.
Dancing, food and fun
Following the ceremony, the couple shared a romantic first dance and then led the party to the buffet for a delicious dinner. The speeches brought laughter and tears and the night ended with a dance party.

Christianson’s Nursery Wedding Packages
Christianson's Nursery in Mount Vernon, WA, offers a variety of picturesque and flexible wedding packages for creating unforgettable memories. Couples can choose from several unique settings, including the historic Meadow Schoolhouse, the English Rose Garden, and the charming Vinery.
The Meadow Schoolhouse (built in 1888) is an intimate venue that seats up to 50 guests, with an additional 120-person capacity in the adjoining Rose Garden. The venue offers beautiful views, vintage folding chairs, banquet tables, a Bridal Cottage for prep, and access to the Nursery's glass greenhouses for stunning photo opportunities. The Schoolhouse and Rose Garden package starts at $3,800 for weekdays and $4,000 for weekends during peak season.
The Vinery offers a larger space with panoramic views, ideal for larger weddings. The Vinery can accommodate up to 140 guests and features a beautiful paver patio, loft spaces for ceremonies, and a full kitchen with a walk-in cooler. The Vinery package starts at $4,600 for weekdays and $4,900 for weekends during peak season.
Both venues include amenities such as ample parking, access to historic greenhouses, restroom facilities, and spaces for catering and bar service. Independent catering and alcohol service are allowed with proper permits.
Christianson's offers year-round availability (excluding April and May) and provides a serene, garden-filled backdrop that is perfect for weddings, bridal showers, and special events.
